You may not be able to predict or prevent a dental emergency, but as the Boy Scouts are fond of saying, you can always be prepared. At Cabana Family Dental, we’re passionate about helping our patients achieve and maintain their healthiest smiles for life, and helping our patients during dental emergencies is just one more way we keep our patients smiling. If you or a loved one experiences a dental emergency, contact our office right away. If we are open, our goal is to see patients immediately. If it’s after hours, follow the instructions on our answering machine to get the information you need to get in touch with the on call member of our team. Our knowledgeable staff member will walk you through first aid and pain management and schedule a time for you to visit our office. Call us right away if you experience any of the following common dental emergencies:
- Knocked out, chipped, cracked, broken teeth
- Knocked out, chipped, cracked, broken temporary or permanent dental restorations (crowns, bridges, etc.)
- Broken or damaged dentures
- Severe toothache or sensitivity to changes in temperature that may indicate root canal infection
For more severe emergencies such as extensive facial trauma, potentially broken jaw or other facial bones, and soft tissue lacerations (tongue, cheek gums) that do not stop bleeding within an hour, we recommend you proceed to your nearest emergency room. Once a physician determines your injuries are not life threatening, our team will be happy to repair damaged dental structures.
